«'The time will come': Beckett and inclusion»
Conférence du Professeur Jonathan Heron de l’université de Warwick, Vendredi 23 février 10h30-12h30 Amphi Lefèvre
This research seminar will address performances of Beckett in international classrooms, theatres and environments where individual experiences of ageing, disability and sexuality extend our understanding of the texts themselves. Examples will include Nando Messias's Death and the Sissy (2017), Touretteshero's Not I (2018) and Joe Caslin's The youth need to see their greatness reflected in our eyes (2019). Taking these examples in turn, the presentation will explore questions of accessibility and uncertainty in relation to inclusive practice and ‘pedagogies of place’ (Heron & Johnson; Nugent-Folan & Whelan; McMullan & Nixon; Beloborodova, Van Hulle & Verhulst; 2020).
